I believe that the explosion of big data leads to an historic opportunity for value creation and will be the key to a new generation of business intelligence. As an intrapreneur I introduced big data analytics into the services portfolio of a Fortune 50 networking and communications organization to sharpen its competitive edge. Those analytics are just the tip of the iceberg, feeding my passion for big data.
I am a senior marketing and business development executive with more than 15 years of experience at Fortune 500 companies and successful venture capital-funded startups.. For the past 7 years as a management consultant I have worked on innovative data analytics projects focused on security and networking for clients such as Check Point Software and Nokia. My academic background in technology and business set the stage for a broad range of interests, with big data as a nexus.
I was once a journalist, having written for both consumer and technology publications. I also have more than two decades of experience in communications management and consulting for technology firms. I’ve launched consumer electronics and deep technology products, including multidisc CD-ROM readers, cellular phone service in the San Francisco Bay Area, USB 2.0 controller semiconductors, optical transponder devices, and embedded systems software. Learning about big data analytics is the next port of call for my curiosity. It’s pervasive, complex, and proof that everything old can be new again.
